I wondered what happens when people don't have enough gifts. Can they still go to the wedding or funeral? I suppose it's good they make gifts and don't need to buy them.
Some traditions are nice but they can make life a bit more difficult.
If people don't have enough gifts they may feel ashamed so then they borrow money and then they have only a little money for themselves. It gets complicated.
