Tongans use the mats on the floors of their houses and they also wear them.

That seems funny. I can't imagine wearing a carpet but they look so smart in their mats.

The best mats, which take a very long time to weave, pass from one generation to another. You don't just throw them away. Sometimes mats have holes in them because they are old but they are even more valuable then the new ones.
