Richard is standing outside the meeting house on the Marae. This is where all the people get together for special occasions.
When someone dies they will often be brought to the meeting house and all their relations and friends will come and say goodbye to them here.
I think that is nice. It is sad when someone dies but good to talk about it and remember them together.
